Named after Admiral Robert Digby, one the United Empire Loyalists who helped settle Digby in 1783, Digby offers its visitors dramatic scenery and phenomenal seafood.  Home to the world famous Digby Scallop, Digby is also known for having the largest inshore scallop fleet in the world.

Lady Vanessa and the Admiral Digby Museum

Once in Digby, learn about the town’s history as a fishing village and Loyalist settlement by visiting the Lady Vanessa and the Admiral Digby Museum. The Lady Vanessa is a former 92-ft scallop dragger that has been restored and transformed into a private museum that highlights the local fishery. Named after Admiral Robert Digby who arrived in Digby in 1783, the Admiral Digby Museum features collections of furnishings, photographs, maps, paintings, artifacts and archives that portray Digby’s history to its visitors. Hours vary.  Admission charged.
