On Bunker Island, near Yarmouth, the original wooden tower of Bunker Island Light was built in 1874 and was temporarily used as a quarantine station for sailors arriving with small pox.  The present square tower replaced the wooden tower in 1960.  Bunker Island Light is only accessible at low tide.

Directions: From Main Street Yarmouth, travel south for 2.2 miles.  Turn right at the sign for Sand Beach and bear left up the hill towards the parking lot.
